1)Jessica, Hey honey! I hope everything is going well for you and Sage. I have to tell you about my English class. English 1102 with Professor Ingram is off the chain. I have learned so much. I actually know how to create an annotated bibliography now. It is very time consuming and extremely detailed but after I accomplished writing the bibliography, I felt more knowledgeable. Our book about writing is extremely useful. When assigned pages or chapters to read, I have always took notes to help me understand the content better. Some of the topics I really don't comprehend but after asking Professor Ingram questions, I have more sense of whatever I don't understand. This English class is so important because you will always use what you learn in this class. There is not a career I know where you don't have to write of read. Everything that I have learned in this class will always be carried on with me. I hope to see you soon. Miss ya!

2) I wrote the Annotated Bibliography because it opened up my mind to get me prepared for the essay. It helped me contemplate on which way I was going to take my essay. I got my ideas from books, magazines, articles, journals, and from burrowing my mind. The audience of my blogger and bibliography was my classmates and professor. I also think that doctor's and individuals who have sleep deprivation would be my audience for my bibliography. My classmates and professor affected my writing by giving me feedback about the piece and planting different thoughts that I can use. The doctor's and individuals affect my writing because they might disapprove with what I have to say about the subject. I definitely
worked on my references in MLA format. It strengthened my skill by typing all those references. I also worked on how to piece each section together (the six paragraphs all together). It was very hard for me to word some of the sentences together. This piece was difficult for me to write because I am not accquainted with so much research and taking all the information in. I made a lot of revisions to the first three annotations. I didn't think they were clear enough for the reader to understand them. After revising, I felt more comfortable with an audience reading. I really didn't try anything new or take a risk unless I am just naive. I get very nervous about writing because I don't think I can do it to the way the professor would like it completed. The articles and the book that we are reading in class influenced my writing. I learned that it is not easy as I thought it might be. It is very time consuming. I like to try to write words that are not of the average (big words to make me look smarter than I really am). I learned how to compose this piece which I never knew what it was before this. I learned about meletonin that is produced by the body and some medications that are safe and not safe.I also learned some techniques that will help with sleeping. I am learning that I have to trust myself in my writing and be more confident about my writing. I am thinking about adding more annotations and information about each. I also might remove one or two that I don't think might be pertinent to my essay.
3) I thought it fit well with the theme of the class. It made me feel very comfortable getting familiar with the class and not just everything bombarding me at one time. I think it is a great start for the semester.

you can't figure how to write

Fourth Blog Post
I absorbed on how to create a blog. This is the very first time that I have ever generated a blog post. It is very interesting and opened my mind to new ideas. It is so much more diverse from Facebook and My Space.
I have learned that writing process requires more thinking than I thought it would. When we send a text or an informal email, we really don't think about the process as a whole. We jot down what we are thinking without really thinking about it! When writing for this blog, it is so much more intense. You actually have to think and be mindful of the writing process. I pondered the thought that this blog and the writing process go hand in hand. This blog is the writing process and requires some skill to complete.
This blog truly assisted in the research process. Not only did it aid in putting our ideas down on the blog, it will also be used as a guide when writing our essays. We will be able to look back on what we accomplished and apply it to our lives. This blog contributes to our success for the future. It benefits us in indulging in our minds and souls It is part of our education that we cannot live without.
The inquiry question was the toughest portion of this whole blog. Every time I read my inquiry question, I always second guess myself. I felt like it wasn't specific enough or I always wanted to change it. It acts like it doesn't fit into my whole topic and I don't know if it is worded to my liking. People throughout my life have told me that go with your instinct. That is why I haven't changed it just yet.
I have learned to have confidence in my writing. Even though I feel like it takes me plus time to complete my assignments, I know that I can definitely do this and be proud of my accomplishments. There is last thought that I would like to add in this blog. In one of my other classes there was a quote by Walt Whitman "When I wrote that poem only God and I know what I meant. Now that it is written only God knows what it means." Please read this quote and tell me what your thoughts are on this.
This blog has been a pleasure. I ultimately enjoyed in participating in this blog. Thank you for all the inspiration and encouragement that went into this.

Third Blog Post
1) I will be writing to people who want to understand more about sleeping pills and the affects they might have on an individual. I will also be writing to people who have trouble sleeping (Sleep Deprivation).
I understand why my topic is timely. Sleep deprivation is affecting millions of people in the world today. There is always going to be medications for people who do not sleep well. Doctor's, nurses, and individuals will have to keep up with new and different meds or other ways to help people develop better sleep patterns.
I care so much about this topic because I have sleep deprivation and would like to know more about the medications and what else I can do if I don't want to take meds. I think many high schools teachers instruct you to write objectively without any sort of personal investment because students don't know the whole meaning of writing and the writing process at this time. I think college Professors care that you care about what your writing because they want you to understand the writing process and set you up for success in whatever career you decide to do. Writing is involved in all careers.
2) Some mutliple viewpoints in my research is:
-Some people will take meds just to help them sleep.
-Some individuals won't take any meds beacuse of the side effects
-Other people want to learn more about sleep deprivation, meds
-some doctor's don't agree with sleeping pills
3) Researching is a very long process. I learned that you have to read for example an article over and over again to make sure that the information works well in the essay that you will be writing. I also learned that researching is not as easy as I thought it would be. One new and interesting thing I learned about my topic is that individuals who use sleeping medications decease earlier than humans who don't.
4)I responded to Aziza's blog. I hope that it will help her with her research.

2nd Blog Post
The most interesting source I have found so far is a book called Sleep Disorders Sourcebook edited by Sandra J. Judd. It is interesting because it talks about some medication, dosage and safety for sleep deprivation. The book covers many topics about sleep disorders. Some of the topics are the different kind of sleep disorders, the sources of it, and avoiding, identifying, and handling sleep disorders. The books talks about sleeping pills and gives options you have. It gives two diferent types of medication and explains so many areas of the drugs. It also talks about corresponding and alternate medicine. Since I have been doing more research, my topic has not changed. I have not revised my inquiry question as of yet. I am still researching about pills and sleep deprivation. I don't think narrowing my scope will affect my research, it is just about finding the books that have the information about taking sleeping pills, how they affect you, and what kinds there are out there. One tip I have is to make sure you are navigating the right information for your topic, as it is very easy to get off track. Try to find as many sources as you can.

1st Blog post
I have two research questions. How does sleep deprivation affect your health? If you have sleep deprivation, will it benefit you to take sleeping pills? I settled on these questions because I have sleep deprivation and would like to know more about the topic. It will benefit me and others to get a better knowledge of sleep and how to get more of it. Sleep deprivation is timely because it affects many Americans. It is important to address this topic because there are ways to overcome this problem and some people might not know they have this problem. People should care about sleep deprivation because it can affect your health. I expect to find information that can benefit people and explain what it is and a prevention for sleep disorders. Also about pills and how it can benefit you or harm you. The preliminary research that I have done was look at different sources through the library.Yes, I am coming across different scholars that have different outlooks on this subject. One different view is the medicine you can take. I would like to get more information and books and find more information to to see more different views on this subject. I would like more time to read and answer this question in the future. I think it is good to have different viewpoints because there are so many sides to a topic and never just one. Also think it is good to have different viewpoints because one person might think medicine is good for sleep deprivation whereas another person might be nervous to take a medication for the side effects it might cause. I am neutral as of right now but am leaning more towards the side effects it might cause. I could change my mind once I see different sides and arguments that are out there. Is this a good topic? Should I change my topic? Do you have any advice that could help me? I am not good at these kind of essays.
